Gillian & Joey
... and their elegant vineyard wedding!

How did you two meet?
"We met in college at Salisbury University (according to Joey we were in the same class freshman year but I didn’t know it haha)…we actually first were just friends sophomore year and hung out with the same group of people. We had the same major, and ended up having a lot of classes together. Junior year, we had an 8am class together and when I was driving to class I saw joey walking towards campus, knowing he normally rode his bike, I offered him a ride. He said his tire popped and he was walking to class that day, and only a few minutes after he asked me out (this is at 7:30 in the morning by the way!) and the rest is history!"
How did he propose?
"For our 1 year anniversary we went to a pretty park in St Michaels, MD and had a nice dinner afterward. For our 2-year, I thought it would be fun to go back again and have a joint trip with my sister and her husband. I planned the whole thing, from the airbnb to the “golden hour photoshoot” where I was going to take their Christmas card photos for them. Little did I know, Joey and my sister helped planned to have a secret photographer at the same time for pictures, and he proposed during our photoshoot time! They nailed the timing even though I was the one to plan the trip."

What was your favorite moment on your wedding day?
"Joey's favorite moment was walking down the aisle together after the ceremony. I think that takes second, but I loved our first dance! It felt so intimate and romantic although everyone was watching."
Tell us about your say yes experience here at Love & Lace!
"My sister had found her dress at L&L (i think back in 2018!) and after going to other stores I had a really great feeling stepping into L&L. Everyone was absolutely amazing helping me choose the right one both in my budget and my inspiration pictures. Of course, I had my mom, now mom in law, sister, and grandma-in-law their to make my decision. Was an absolutely magical experience!"

What advice would you give to another bride?
"I would suggest enjoying every single moment of the engagement period. I miss it although it could be stressful at times. We tried to not sweat the small stuff because after choosing the right vendors, you should leave the stress to them! They are professionals and know what they are doing, so just try to enjoy the process with your fiancé!"
