Libby & Alex

...and their waterfront wedding + beautiful road trip honey moon!

Libby & Alex fell hard and heavy in love when they met 8 years ago...

How did you two meet?

"Alex and I met outside of the Henson School of Science and Technology at Salisbury University our sophomore year by the bike racks and Alex helped me carry my heavy chemistry books all the way across campus. Later that night, he met up with my roommates and I at a college party.

No soon after meeting each other, we started dating four days later on August 26th, 2014 and the rest was history..."

How did he propose to you?

"...During a late weekend in September, Alex and I were supposed to go camping with my parents in Cape Charles, Virginia. However, the day before our trip, Alex and I sold our  renovated retro 1997 Terry Travel Trailer. We canceled the trip and my parents were going to visit us in Edgewater, Maryland for the weekend instead.

To make up for the canceled camping trip, Alex suggested we go grab lunch in downtown Annapolis since my parents weren't coming until late afternoon. He also wanted us to dress nice since we didn't know where we would end up downtown. We walked around Annapolis and ended up getting cream of crab soup and calamari at McGarvey's - it was delicious!

On our way home, Alex mentioned that we needed to stop at our marina down the street from our house to fill up the cooler with ice, so my parents had a place to put all their Natural Light beer. We got to the marina and Alex said he wanted to take a walk down to the dock. I really was not in the mood to go on a walk, since my right foot was getting a blister from my fall booties, but I went anyway, despite my sore foot.

We approached the dock and waited for this couple to get off. Alex wanted to wait till the couple left the dock and maintain social distance (which is totally understandable during these odd times). The couple left and Alex and I walked towards the end of the dock. While walking towards the end of the dock, Alex held my hand and told me he had something important to ask me.

At the moment, I realized he was proposing. He then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him and I said yes. I was so surprised and in shock at this moment - I couldn't believe he proposed.

My sister and her boyfriend hid in the bushes to capture the moment on camera.

No sooner after our photo session, a surprise engagement party was held at our home with our family and friends - it was perfect!"

"...My mom, sister, and I went shopping at Love & Lace in January 2021 and I knew after just walking in, I’d buy my dress here. I really didn’t want to shop around a lot of places and your selection was great! The dress I ended up getting for my wedding, my sister picked out and I was unsure of it at first, but once I put it on - I knew it was my dress. It totally went with my boho wedding vibe and the detachable train was a hit and so fun!"

What was your favorite moment on your wedding day?

"...The first look with my husband, Alex. It was so intimate and special and gave us a lot of time to read our vows to one another and have some alone time before all the craziness of the day. I know this is something he was on the fence about doing, but after it all he was so glad we did, and it’s become one of his favorite parts as well..."

Congratulations Libby & Alex!

What advice would you give to another bride?

"...No matter what happens, the wedding day will be better than you expect or even imagine! We know a lot of people say this, but it really is true. Things may go wrong or not go to plan, but it all works out and no one really noticed besides yourself. Really enjoying every minute of the day and choose different parts to focus on the most because it goes by so fast...
