Jennifer & Brent
... and their beautiful wedding!
How did you meet?
We are a Bumble couple! First meet-up was at Starbucks though, even though Brent doesn't drink coffee. First real date was a cruise of the Annapolis harbor.
How did he propose?
Brent surprised Jen when they were visiting her family for the holidays in 2020. It was a rough year and the first time everyone (including some cousins!) had been together in months. The whole group got together for photos randomly (he hadn't warned anyone so it was a surprise) and as Jen was going to walk back to the house Brent was tugging on her arm and getting down on one knee. The kids and parents and everyone was there which made it all the more special. And Jen's cousin was quick on the photos so the whole moment was captured.
Tell us about your say yes experience here at Love & Lace!
Everything about L&L was amazing. I knew that it was the only place I wanted to go after my best friend (and one of my maid's of honor) got her dress with you. I never felt uncomfortable about my body (not being the traditional sample size can bring up that anxiety) and had the most amazing time! Everyone was wonderful from the person who reassured me on the phone before my appointment through everyone who was present in the salon on trial day and pickup day. You really can tell that people care about you in the salon.
What was your favorite moment on your wedding day?
Just one? Being with everyone was amazing, it's so rare to have all the people who bring you joy in the same place. The ceremony that joined the four of us (Brent and Jen and Brent's kids) into a new family. Having our pup come for photos, & dancing the night away!
What advice would you give to another bride?
It's ok to not do all the "traditional" things. We didn't have a standard ceremony or speeches or a big cake. There's a lot of pressure to do things the way "it's always been done" and you definitely can make your day about the things that make you happy instead of all the things you've always seen. It goes by in a flash, so don't forget to take a breath and a moment to enjoy looking around throughout the day. Also, have good communication with your photographer and wedding planner/coordinator. They are the key to your happiness that day!
